If I had a choice to rebuild in this area.....and I've thought about it, it would be a dome home on a lake in the middle of the orange groves over here. I know the people who constructed dome homes in my area. One of them put on my back porch after 9/11 while i was "nesting".
He lives in one, and it is awesome.

Nice, spacey feeling inside, white walls, curving stairwells and odd shaped rooms..., tilem floors, curved balconies,........a sound, sound structure..very comfortable. At the same cost of regular builder.
They withstand 200 mph winds, and are used as weather stations up in the Arctic.
