Raoul my good man. I'm sure your intentions at educating us are extremely noble but we get our Olympic coverage time-delayed in the evenings and it's nice to retain a small bit of intrigue.
I have to say though that as much as I'm pulling for Phelps to do very well in this Olympics I think our media needs a slap in the face for putting such huge expectations on an athlete like that. The wonder of Mark Spitz was that as his medal count kept increasing, we were gaining in the excitement instead of expecting it.
Am I the only one in here that got a guilty bit of glee seeing our spoiled American basketball team get their asses kicked yesterday? Somehow, their need to have their own luxury ocean liner and all its trappings of decadence instead of staying in the Olympic Village, seemed awfully presumptuous. To be trounced by Puerto Rico seemed like a bit of cosmic justice.
