Another proposal for "oil for the Iraqis"
Only an article preview here for free, but I'm glad this idea is still on the table somewhere. I have long advocated some kind of Alaska-like deal where a big chunk of oil money gets turned directly into checks for individual Iraqi citizens. Wouldn't be easy, but worth a shot, and would do more to protect the oil industry than all the soldiers in the coalition combined.
