I've recieved five calls to my home phone during the last several days. The Caller ID shows "Arizona" and the phone number 253-739-3206 (oh, I reversed those numbers, you'll see why). Nobody says anything if you pick it up nor do they leave a message.
So I do what I always do when this kinda thing happens, I googled it. But it's weird what comes up. There is a link to a website with a funny sounding name. The text that is under it is something that appears to be a post on a message board; but, the link is to a simple URL, not something long like a message board would be.
I haven't clicked the link. Firewall is up and all, but I really don't want to click on just any link nor do I want to support this kind of behavior by clicking on their link. If it is phishing, I don't want any part of that.
I'm curious, just not gonna do it.
Oh, if you are still wondering, I don't want this post coming up on a google search for that number. I won't post the link, for similar reasons. If it is a marketing ploy, they are counting on internet buzz. I am sort of contributing to that, I know, but perhaps we can not link Habitable Zone with such things. I'm not asking anyone to click that link, but if you do, tell us what you discover, but don't post the link or provide anything that might pop up on google about this.
But I'd thought I ask here, has someone else has seen anything like this before? Or is it just my active imagination?
A way around the Do Not Call List?
