This article, which considering the source should maybe be taken with a grain of salt, may soon have leftists in a dilemma:
It is currently a major thesis of the Left that touch-screen computer voting is highly susceptible to fraud (a concern which, I have to concede, actually has a few good points), and that no election relying on such systems should be trusted. Of course, this is one part of the setup as an election-killer after a Bush victory.
But the accusation of Chavez's opposition is that touch-screen computer voting was used by Chavez to perpetrate fraud.
Jimmy Carter has certified that a touch-screen vote was accurate.
Chavez is currently a hero of many on the Left. So is Carter, winner of the Nobel Prize for Bush Kicking.
Now what? ;)
Chavez: this should be good.
