ok...If he needs to talk to a lawyer about a pending appeal or something, that might be a good exception... But even then, He should only be allowed to communicate while a court approved monitor is present.

It would be interesting to see what "religious books" he wants access to. Could there be codes contained there-in?

Nah...

Any way, he should be happy they even feed him.
