Conspiracy du jour: Why haven't gas prices skyrocketed?

Every time the price of crude has gone up before, the price of gas has climbed.

The explanations include the price of crude, limited refinery capacity, and those rascally environmentalists who want customized gas.

However, this time the price of crude is at record levels (though one will say not), there is the same refinery capacity and the same gas mixes.

Why?

Some folks will come up with other reasons, see citation.

And some, including me, think it's because of the Bush oil connections, the Bush love affair of black crude spilling over the beaches and meadows of the US, the Bush enchantment with making the rich richer, and the oil companies wanting to protect their great benefactor.

Because an increase in the price of energy would lead to inflation which would lead to an end of Bush.

Arf (but wait until after the election!!)
