Bowser, as an atheist I'm sure you know how bizarre I feel the Christian faith is and how much carnage has been encouraged by its followers but I think when a post shows the brutality perverted Islamics can bestow upon others it's probably best to not attack the message.
Instead I think the message should be from the more liberal or centrist side that yes, we are absolutley outraged by the abuses of Islam but we acknowledge that in trying to act upon it we are forced to pick and choose the battles, that the United States simply does not have the ability to take on all of the world's evil and thus it is unethical to pick and choose. Were we to got to war with Iran because of the abuses detailed here, then we need to be consistent and go after ever human rights violation we find around the world regardless of how that country's actions affect our current political and economic climate.
As much as it tickles our fantasies to think we can be the policemen to the world, it simply is a matter of fact that, as strong as we are, we are absolutely incapable of altering all of the evil we see. When we build this priority list where the Mideast goes to the top of the list, we're viewed, and rightfully so, that we pick our battles based on our own need and greed. I would so love to see all the ayatollahs of Iran the target of a carpet bombing but I know in my heart that we'd take out a lot of very innocent people as well.
From what we see of history, all dictatorial and despotic regimes eventually fall to their own greed and violence. We simply have to have the resolve to understand the timeframes involved and be extreme scholars of the psychology of mankind. Human nature has changed very little over man's reign on Earth and we know as scientists that evolution, both physical and mental, takes eons to occur.
