This may be a little incorrect, since I did this problem MANY years ago, but one homework problem asked how long it would take to reach the center of the galaxy (IN YOUR OWN REFERENCE FRAME) if you went at a constant acceleration of 1 G... I THINK the answer was 11 to 12 years due to relativistic time dialation... of course the fuel required would be the mass of a few suns....
