Ah yes...the US oppresses the world.

I'm just curious. Who exactly are we telling what to do? I see it as just the opposite. I see us asking for assistance in dealing with messes many of these other nations contributed to and the US receiving what amounts to an obscene gesture in response.

Follow the money. Which nation is draining its resources to bring democracy to oppressed peoples? Which nation brings freedom to oppressed peoples?

Sure, in the twisted worlds of the left's imagination, George Bush is the lead oppressor in a nation which deserved 9-11, using the attack to justify looting these other nations; is secretly supervising the opium trade in Afghanistan for the CIA; is 'King George' the insanely evil yet simultaneously dimwitted ruler of North America who really makes Hitler seem like a nice guy because he has put terror suspects and captives in a prison and abridged their constitutional rights.

Yes, that's one of way of looking at the events of the past three years.

I see things differently. I see a terror network that grew and grew under Clinton's two terms. An irrational religious based group of fanatics that was using religion to shield its murderous ways. I see a President who did not plan for ambitious foreign policy decisions, but rather made them in response to the largest and most successful attack on America ever. I see the abridgement of rights and the Patriot Act as temporary, necessary evils in giving law enforcement the necessary power to stop terror attacks before they occur.

I see a war in which people millions were freed of an oppressive tyrant. I see the religious leaders exploit the situation and attempt to instill a sense of fear into the freed millions so that they will obey religious masters instead of being truly free. Al Sadr and Sistani are two sides of the same coin, both of them represent degrees of oppression.

I see portions of a nation which are gullible enough to believe various conspiracy theories which originated in foreign lands, including authors in France, about George Bush and his master plan. A master plan which involved planning 9-11 and using it to allow America to invade Afghanistan and Iraq to secure contracts for US oil companies. A group which simultaneously fails to realize that the French and Germans were doing great business with the removed tyrant and are now forced to deal with other nuclear hungry third world nations, such as Iran, without skipping a beat.

I see the world as a very messed up place where self-serving nations abound. I see the US being exploited by these same nations.

Europe has exploited the US constantly. From the recent cleaning up of Europes own hate-filled backyard in Serbia and Yugoslavia or the two world wars in which we had no immediate stake, Europe has allowed Americans to fight and die to protect and free soil which was not ours. However we were happy to do it - because we sacrifice our own lives and wealth for others to support our belief in freedom.

Then Europe begrudges us our actions in the Middle East when we bring freedom to others--simply because it interrupts their billion dollar deals.

This sort of ingrate mentality is pervasive. We have fished for these people for generations. When they get in trouble they can't clean up their own mess, but come crying to the US. Then when we clean up another mess they get angry, because this particular mess was making them very rich.

And if you think the US was not asked to remove Saddam, think again. The hundreds of thousands of Kurds who are now living free came with a delegation to the US to ask us to remove the mass murdering tyrant who killed their father's and mothers with WMD. Their native Iraqi voices were far more righteous than the UN asking the US to clean up Yugoslavia and take out Milosevic.

But this is not what the left focuses on. We don't read happy Kurd tales or how the lives of millions of Iraqis have changed with access to education for women, no impending fear of Saddam's butchers leading them to the torture chambers before disposing of their bodies in a mass grave. No. We hear none of that. Zip. Instead, we hear about the 'quagmire' of small insurgencies that make big headline splashes by assassinating the folks who were bringing freedom to their fellow Iraqis. We hear justification for these acts from the left who declare that these insurgents are freedom fighters fighting Bush's and the US oppression. Yes, in some twisted way several million Americans believe these lies and adopt these oft-repeated views. Why? Because the US is the only nation free enough for such lies to be spread so rampantly. Any other nation, including France and Germany, would arrest and suppress those that made such anti-Government charges since they don't share our constitutional liberties.

So I watch as this sad play unfolds. I watch the world exploit America and Americans. I watch Mexico send us millions every year in an attempt to parasite our wealth. I watch George Soros, another global parasite, dedicate his Billion dollar fortune to fund a man he believes will help weaken America-- a man named John Kerry.

America oppresses none. America doesn't oppress Cuba by refusing to trade with it. We refuse to do trade with it because they are run by an idiot-thug who was trying to point Soviet nuclear missiles at America.

America keeps fighting for Democracy and those who resent the freedom we bring to other people twist reality and paint complex lies to explain the simple truths. They wish to obscure our record as the greatest nation of earth who has brought freedom to more people than any other nation in history and has taken nothing in return.

Right now we are freeing others and our people are dying to preserve others freedom. Their sacrifices are ridiculed, diminished, portrayed as the victims of some George Bush global conquest scheme. No one reports that they died so that Iraqis could remain free, but that is the truth. Instead we have idiots saying they died on a search for WMD that didn't exist another lie masqueraded as truth by the selfish. Our men and women are no longer searching for any stockpiles of WMD and none died during those searches. Our men are dying to preserve freedom from thugs and suicidal religious martyrs doing the bidding of foreign nations and other would be tin-hat tyrants. Saying our men died in searches for WMD is ridiculous. It's that sort of twisting of reality which is quite disturbing to me. Only in America do they have the freedom to say such slanders and denigrate the bringers of freedom.

I can't change the way others view the world. I can't force others to see the way I see things. Having an intimate knowledge of world history and the conflicts cannot be bestowed as a gift upon the readers of my posts. The lessons of history can't be learned in a day or even several months. Each will see things within their own framework of knowledge. Their own experiences will further bolster or dissuade the reasons for events.

The bottom line is some folks actions will hamper the freedom of others and lead to more folks suffering. We both have different views as to which policies and actions pose the greater threat to freedom.

I look at the results. More people are free now than were free in 2001. More people are free to receive an education and learn to read. This sort of benefit will be exponential.

Watching oppressors try to thwart these gains is to be expected, but watching factions in the west try and thwart these gains is sad beyond all comprehension.
