Regardless of the merit of the claims - I think the way Robert wrote it is HIGHLY missleading. It's NOT a JPL update - it's NOT an 'Opportunity Updates' - and it's NOT a claim by the quoted scientist.

Furthermore - your suggestions regarding the dunes are quite right. To me - they look JUST like the small chop one gets on a lake in strong winds. i.e. - Wind formations. They DONT look like the meandering ripples one gets under water.
