re: MTHEL shoots down mortar rounds
Destroying a mortar round in flight is probably a lot easier than taking out an artillery round, but both achievements are amazing. A mortar round flies a much steeper trajectory artillery rounds, giving you a slower target with a longer flight time.
I've read that the Army is working on hybrid-electric Humvees. They aren't after higher fuel mileage (but that's gravy). They want a vehicle with a lot of electrical power to support MTHEL. Cool. I wonder if they're planning on mounting an artillery tracking radar on the same vehicle or if they'll need special cueing data to hit incoming rounds.
