Actually it's "Phenomenalism"

David Hume and George Berkeley explored the philosophy of "phenomenalism" which is a different beast from phenomenology (such as explored by Edmund Husserl). The thermostellar bomb and astronaut in "Dark Star" were debating over concepts of phenomenalism. The bomb's error with regard to phenomenalism showed the basic weakness of that specific philosophy.
