Having been in the military is not the same thing as supporting a strong American military and strong defense posture in later political life. Hell, George McGovern flew combat missions in WWII.

Kerry's problem right now is that he is attempting to make his military career override the rest of his life. It ain't working.

Lieberman, the only one in your list (as far as I am aware--correct me if I'm wrong) strongly supporting the current anti-terror policies and the war in Iraq, can't even get his phone calls returned by the Democratic leadership.
