I do NOT support Israeli expansion. I think that Israel should build compact, defensible de-facto bborders and disengage as much as possible from the Palestinians. Settlements not immediately adjacent to Jerusalem should be abandoned. Only a ring of settlements directly adjoining Jerusalem should be retained. The rest are liabilities, not assets.

Nonetheless, the Soviets created modern Arab terrorism with their support of the PLO.
