maybe agnosticism is the most honest way to be - living in a constant state of not knowing one way or the other. I tend to a certain religiosity but respect agnostics, certainly more than atheists.
His death (and my own coming within 1 second of dying in an accident a few months later) dispelled any teenage invulnerability I might've felt.
Reading that reminded me of Kirk Douglas writing about his helicopter accident, which caused him to become more religious. Well - different ways for different folks ..
