While it has to be admitted that the Bush administration has a lot riding on success in Iraq and Afghanistan, the converse is also true: the Left around the world also has a lot riding on failure. It's not surprising that they're rooting for it.

If Iraq succeeds in developing a democratic and non-aggressive form of government, the Left will take a hit like it hasn't taken since the Berlin Wall fell. Not sure how much would be left at the end.
