NEWSWEEK: You organized a rally this week to call attention to what you called the “real moral, social and economic issues of this election.” What are some of those issues?

James A. Forbes Jr.: They're basically what we call the prophetic justice principles, like taking responsibility for the vulnerable, being truthful in facts and motives, guarding the freedom of thought and discussion … The founding documents of our nation and most faith traditions would consider these to be basic principles that must be obtained if we are to enjoy the good life together.
