Clinton bombed Iraq in pursuit of weapons of mass destruction that did not exist.

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

But since it has been established by some people here as a hard and incontrovertible fact that Iraq had no more WMD after the Gulf War, had no mechanisms for producing them, and no intention to ever produce them for the next thirty years, then Clinton's pretty much in the same category Bush is. In other words, according to the premises I have heard here, the facilities Clinton was talking about--"Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs--could not have existed.

So, was Armey right? Was he lying? Or just mistaken? If neither, then what was he bombing at the end of 1998, years after I have been told all WMD and facilities had been absolutely destroyed?

For some more information, a pretty good timeline of Operation Desert Fox can be found here, including details of attacks on WMD sites. That, according to the Common Wisdom, did not exist.
