People were talking about Bush doing cocaine when he ran against Gore in 2000. It's accepted that Bush was an alcoholic with a DUI conviction. Supposably Bush recognized that he had a substance abuse problem and hasn't touch any alcohol in years. The cocaine story may or may not be true but either way it's old scandal and has been factored in.

We can safely assume that because Kerry is now desperate, all the dirty laundary will come out including old scandal. My guess is that Kerry's disgraceful behavior when he was calling his fellow Vietnam Veterans war criminals along with his dodgy history in Vietnam is sufficient scandal. Word has it that Kerry has a babe on the side. However Kerry has enough bad history connected with Vietnam that Bush's people really don't need to trot out Kerry's babe.
