I have 2 favorite older cousins whom i first met in the early 70s .. one lives & works in Connecticut but once worked on the 110th floor of the WTC. The other - his sister - lives in Greenwich Village and saw the whole thing.

Not that that's relevant to one's appropiate and humane reaction to 9/11 .. but all the same it does add that extra personal dimension.
