Air pollution is a legitimate concern, and one we all have to worry about. Let's look at the causes:
The molds that produce antibiotics emit gasses which are quite toxic in high doses. Now, do we want to eliminate antibiotics from our lifestyle?
Ambulances are very polluting. They have big engines, idle a lot, and power life support systems for sick and injured people. Do we want to eliminate ambulances?
Cows, calves, steers and bulls produce methane, which in quantity is a hazard. Do we want to eliminate milk and beef from our diets? Cheese? What about those Sunday afternoon barbeques, the ribs and steaks? A herd of cows can produce almost as much pollution as an SUV warming up in the driveway every morning. Think of that!!!
And chickens are very polluting, including mites. Are we, as a society, willing to do without eggs? Oh, I know, the wealthy could eat peacock eggs, but do we as a conservative, compassionate society want to starve the poor?
I could go on and on and on. Air pollution is something which needs to be put into perspective. Everything is a trade-off, and a little bit of pollution to save healthcare, antibiotics, and ambulances, beef, cheese, milk and eggs, among many, many other things.
Arf (If the RNC sees this, I've got a job!!)
