Economic systems v. political systems

"Communism", from "commune", is an economic system. Just as is capitalism and socialism.

There are, for instance, politically democratic countries with a socialist economic system.

Tom refuses to learn the difference, to his detriment. It seems that to him teaching an economic system is advocating dictatorship. No wonder he gets upset.

But I have to wonder why teaching is so threatening. After all, if capitalism is so obviously wonderful in all situations, there would be no hard in kids learning about what isn't wonderful.

Early Christians lived in communes. Jesus followed a communistic lifestyle.
