The price.

There were no WMDs. Iraq was not a hotbed of terrorist activity. And the Iraqis do NOT want American-style democracy, which is essentially satellite or puppet status.

Now, look at the cost to America.

The scorn, if not hate, of many of our traditional allies.
Weakening the UN.
The moral standing of Japan after Pearl Harbor.
1000+ fine American men and women dead, 1000+ American families grieving, 7000+ wounded. More dying, more being wounded, more families grieving.
$200+ billion, and all that could have purchased, lost, gone.

And what do we have for that? Saddam is gone, Iraq is now under the domination of a foreign government which says if you don't support us we'll kill you (sounds like Saddam, doesn't it), a destablilized Iraq which has now become home to terrorism, and many, many more terrorists than before.

Not worth it. Not by a long shot. NONE of those kids should have died just for Bush's ego, let alone 1000+.

Etc.

Saddam wasn't worth it. And people who say he was is spitting in the face of 1000+ American families.
