If we were winning effortlessly, the emphasis would be on Iraqi civilian casualties. If we were not in Iraq, but only Afghanistan, the emphasis would then be over there, and word "quagmire" and concern for civilian casualties easily transferred to that nation. I hear from a lot of leftists and liberals who claim that they would be pro-war if we were only in Afghanistan. Some of them are telling the truth. A lot of them are lying in their teeth.

This isn't about the war, and never has been. It's about bringing down a President that has become the Boogeyman of the Left--kind of like Clinton used to be for certain right-wingers (to pick out the anti-Clinton looneys, a quick litmus test is bringing up Vincent Foster.
