Al Qaeda's obvious strategy for Saudi Arabia is to drive out all foreign workers thus causing economic implosion. Saudi Arabia's political basis is the welfare state. Native Saudi's don't have to work. All most Saudis do is collect their welfare checks, stay at home, watch television and breed children. It's been speculated at other forums that the roots of Islamic Fascism come from people bored stupid by the petro-dollar welfare state.

Anyway, in Saudi Arabia, most of the low level, dirty work is done by expatriats from India, Pakistan, Egypt, Philipines, etc. White collar technical work is done mainly by Americans and Europeans. If Al Qaeda has successfully driven out the expatriats then Saudi Arabia will fold. I can't imagine the "magic kingdom" lasting more than 4 years if this is true. Not only does Saudi Arabia control a large fraction of the world's oil supply but they also control Islam's two most holy cities, i.e. Mekka and Medina. This is a time bomb ticking away and represents a huge potential victory for the bad guys.
