Bin Laden a prisoner is a focal point for hostage takers and so forth, sure. Also difficult to keep securely locked up. But think of the opportunities. If he yields under interrogation -- a long shot -- he's a treasure trove. If we get lucky in discovering al Qaeda networks through other means, he can be the "source", and we save our real sources. Who would know for sure?
