Rectangular craters
Hi All
Alexei Arkhipov pointed this one out years ago. Is he your source? His theory is interesting, but currently inconclusive. Rectangular craters can be formed by nearby craters causing crater walls to 'slump' forward into the crater pit. I read an analysis of that effect and statistically it's not infrequent. Only in situ observations can resolve the issue - that's why we need to go back to the Moon.
