All the candidates have to be approved by America through the puppet regime there now.

This is just a rubber-stamp "election" of the type the Soviet Union ran in post-WWII Eastern Europe, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Rumania, Bulgaria, etc.

Means nothing, except as an attempt to legitimize an American-dominated regime.

To be 'free' would imply no foreign control over the elections process, candidates, ballot measures. And to have as a result people who were freely elected.

Which ain't what this is about in Iraq.
