I don't ususally watch CBC news, so I can't really comment on your characterization, but I don't think it's quite as bad as all that.
That aside, I'm more than happy to have some of my tax dollars go to the CBC, as it provides good programming that would simlpy not make it on air on commercial stations. CBC Radio is an even better deal, and I think it is one of the things that helps keep Canada Canadian, and helps create a sense of community from Port Hardy to Bonavista to Resolute.
