Ok, well, my inbox has lots of e-mails about the flight.
It appears an earlier incident convinced the X Prize organizers there was no need to take passengers in order to win the prize.

Also, the wild barrels aren't exactly a way of selling seats.

I'd love to ride the SpaceShip One, but I don't want to get sick.
