Using Iraq as the lint tray for the region seems like a great strategy to me.

Iraq is in the middle of the three largest supporters of terrorism in the world, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Syria. By creating a vacuum in Iraq we are sucking the Islamist dustbunnies into one place to be collected and disposed of. I'd much rather we fight this scum on the plains of Iraq than in the mountains and caves of Afghanistan.
