Especially with the geologists, of course. But there are many other shared interests here, so I'd have to mingle alot.

Just make it 'round a campfire under a brilliantly starry desert sky. There'd be a flame of sweet cedar or pinyon wood within a stone ring made of nicely cross-bedded sandstone. Around that is another ring, a ring of the inhabitants of the Habitable Zone, each with their prefered beverage. They sit upon lawnchairs, beer coolers, or the sandy ground. There are many conversations going on, some about space, some about community, current events, etc... Just sitting there, I can tune into any of these discussions, or participate if I want to. Sometimes I'll get up from the fire ring and take a walk under the stars. As I walk, I can see the glow of the fire and hear the conversations blended together in the desert air.

I tend to view the Zone this way in my imagination. It's been a long time since I sat around a campfire with a few dozen intelligent people having interesting conversations. I miss it. Guess that's why I keep coming back here.

Oh, in the evenings, I often have a beer (a nice amber, locally brewed), while I read the Zone, so I guess it's already kinda like having a beer with y'all.
