Last time I was there was in the 70's...

...and they were just starting to build the hangar for Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose exhibit nearby.

For those who may want to know why the ship is creepy the following is my own reasoning: (please stop reading now if you are unnecessarily irritated by quantum hypothesizing)

It's obsessed--as most structures over seventy-five years are. It was creepy already back then and it was only about 50 years old. The same exact creepiness is present at the Hotel Del Coronado or any other 75+ year old structure you might find. Even the older rides at Disneyland (small world, Pirates, etc.) are getting obsessed as well, even though they are not nearly as old, rather due to the sheer numbers of people passing through and thinking and oscillating with the environment that surrounds them.

People leave residue. Not just shedding skin cells but thought form signal residue. This residue of emotions, ranging from fear of the passengers to the eerie discomfort of the hundreds of thousands of visitors who have stayed there--these signals can be perceived by all of us, even though they may be invisible to the naked eye. They are actually embedded upon the furniture, the carpeting, the walls and the fixtures. It's like a dirt that can't ever be cleaned away by the cleaning crew.

Subconsciously and conscously, the brain receives all these environmental signals much the same way it hears with the auditory nerve or sees with the optic nerve. It's not imagination, it's not some 'fantasizing' going on by the visitor, but is a real and tangible influence put upon all visitors. For those who are particularly sensitive they can identify the various signals. Most perceive it as simpy a sense of gnawing discomfort but many feel and react with fear.

Lots of folks were thinking about the "Poseidon Adventure" when I had visited and there were folks looking at the place from an upside down perspective to see how they would crawl out. Now it is the "Titanic" and folks are looking for the room of automobiles, one with a steamed up window.

Being aware of this process can put these unseen negatively biased signals out of phase. One's consciousness is enormously powerful field generator and when it realizes what is going on it can filter some of these signals, somewhat like an effective firewall. Then one can walk through the Queen Mary or anyplace and be less influenced from the signal noise.
