The whole reason we have to be there now to bring stability and security to the country is because of George Bush's erroneous claim about WMDs. We wouldn't be stuck doing this if it weren't for this terrific error in judgement. Every soldier that dies does so because George Bush made the case to the American people that Saddam had WMD's he didn't have. Had he not done so, the sanctions and inspections would have eventually arrived at the same conclusion with not a single American life lost and without obligating American troops to Iraq to be in harm's way for perhaps the next decade.

Yes, the work of the troops there today is to bring peace and stability to the country. But they wouldn't be needed for this had we not gone there in the first place.
