Well, ok...so they didn't.

It's an amusing site, but be sure to read the FAQ. They openly admit to not doing any real verification. The Niger stats caught their attention and they did a little digging, but apparently for the most part they're just trusting people not to cheat.

Call me jaded, but methinks it'd be a mistake to regard the results as meaningful.
