What is it with sports nuts?

How is the group mentality created that makes them feel like rioting is a desireable way to express joy? Turning over cars, starting fires... etc- maybe I just 'dont get it' but the strongest emotion I have ever felt upon a teams victory was 'gee thats nice'...

I cant even think of a team I have ever particularly rooted for!

Why do these people care?
