Iran Refuses Nuclear Suspension Again

"Iran ruled out a total suspension of uranium enrichment Wednesday as a second round of talks with European negotiators failed to produce an agreement aimed at avoiding a showdown and the possible threat of U.N. sanctions."

Folks,

This is very scary stuff. The Iranians in their internal propaganda statements have repeatedly said they'll nuke the Israelis as soon as they have nuclear capability. The Americans are currently providing the Israelis with bunker busting weapons. Failure by the Iranians to agree with a negotiated settlement will require the UN Security Council to get involved. If the Security Council dead locks or passes only a pro forma resolution then the Israelis will be free (and obligated) to take independent action. The Israelis can only damage the Iranian nuclear weapons development program with conventional weapons. They can not totally destroy it like they did with the Osiraq Reactor. Complete destruction using only conventional weapons would require American involvement. This could be the beginning of a much larger conflict in the Middle East that could easily spiral into a nuclear war.

The Israelis have three German made Dolphin Class attack submarine, see ref. http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/naval/dolphin/Dolphin.html These are state-of-the-art diesel electric subs that almost certainly are armed with the Israeli made Popeye Turbo cruise missiles carrying thermonuclear warheads. The three Dolphin submarines could theoretically exterminate a large fraction (most?) of Iran's population (66,622,704 people).

In less than one day, more people could die than the total casulties of World War One. This is very frightening.
