The Yankees George took them on a ride to get back by reckless spending on high-priced free agents thinking this would assure a Yankee destiny. The Yankees have mortaged their future by selling away their young talent to but the current crop of superstars. Yankee George was looking for having an immediate winner by outspending everybody else and thinking this by itself would entitle him to success----hey, does this sound familiar?

The two Georges have spent the last four years trying to get back to the top by spending more money than has ever been spent. Sorta like cocaine addicts trying to get their original high back and failing.

So today, the Yankees have not only not gotten there, but their George has guided probablythe single greates collapse in the history of team sports. The vocal, exhuberant, raucous Yankee fan now has a sense of pain and vulnerability never before known to him. They were humbled by the boys from Boston.
