Which specific link did you use?

I couldn't find a working mortality link ("all causes") on Nationmaster. I did, however, confirm numbers very close to yours in the CIA Factbook, which I think is a major source of Nationmaster data anyway.

It is a good question why poverty and war-stricken places like the Gaza Strip would have half the mortality rate of the U.S., and would like to hear ideas on this.

Note that the Factbook puts the Iraq estimated death rate for 2004 at 566/100,000. If you go by the 142 deaths in 7,800 Iraqis described in the report for after the invasion in 2003, this number should be 1,820.

Old data? Or what? I'd like to know who's doing the CIA estimates, and how.
