I'm astounded that Barbara Boxer ran effectively unopposed

Senator Barbara Boxer is arguably the worst Senator in the U.S. Senate. However she is running effectively unopposed for reelection (her Republican opponent is a nonentity with no hope for success). We Californians have again been disenfranchised by 50% in the U.S. Senate (Senator Feinstein is competent). California's Republicans have again totally dropped the ball with regard to Boxer.
