Aghanistan and Iraq for the last couple of decades is an example.

The lacking of freedom, the lacking of liberty, the lacking of prosperity- it's an environment hostile to human beings. People leave it, if they are able.

Despite the terrorists and despite the foreign soldiers on their soil, Iraq and Afghanistan are today more peaceful than then it's been for decades.

The opposite of peace is terrorism, genocide, torture, and degradation of the human spirit. The opposite of peace is hell- and Hell is not a specific location on earth or in this universe as described by modern physics. "True" Hell is a "location"/"state" in which there is no capability of escaping.
