Aluminum oxide fibers
Aluminum oxide fibers are roughly 90 times as strong as structural steel per unit weight, more than 10 times as strong as kevlar, graphite, or any other fiber. In addition, such fibers are highly resistant to heat, unlike kevlar, and totally immune to oxidation, unlike both kevlar and graphite. In addition, because of their heat resistance, Al2O3 cloth can be hot-rolled between sheets of metal to form extremely durable composites that can repel even shaped charges.
