It's called the WTN X-Prize, and has no direct bearing on space travel, but
it does involve technological/science challenges.
Are any of you up to it?
Here's the breakdown: The WTN X-Prize calls for accomplishments
in these fields:
(1) Transportation.
(2) Nanotechnology.
(3) Aging deceleration (staying young; living longer through a biomedical/genetic-engineering breakthrough)
(4) Education.
I'm interested in # (1), Transportation, because the challenge
is: to develop a "4-seat vehicle able to achieve at least 200 miles/gallon".
I would like to take up that challenge, but I have to find out if
a GALLON volume of ceramic ('permanent') magnetic-material
is allowable within the rules of that challenge?
If you are interested, log-on to http://www.wtnxprize.org
cheers.

There's also another prize [of sorts] being offered by the x-prize sponsers.
