A beautiful Remembrance (Veterans) Day tribute

I found this to be very touching. Read the story and click on the "Video" button (high speed almost essential).

It looks like we might have a nice day tomorrow for the annual Remembrance Day services here - ususally it's rainy or cold or both, but the forecast is for continued sunny and mild. Despite the weather, there is always a good turnout, and the numbers actually seem to have grown in the past few years, even though there are fewer and fewer WWII and Korean War veterans left. There is a solemn parade led by the vets in their legion uniforms, many laden with medals, and a number of light blue peacekeeping berets among them. Also in the parade are all the local off duty RCMP officers in dress scarlet, all the cadet groups, and scouts, guides, brownies and related young people. There is an address before 11:00, then two minutes of silence followed by "Last Post" on a lone bugle - lately there has also been a flyover of Harvards (Texans) in the missing wing-man formation - then some speeches by local dignitaries and the laying of wreaths in memoriam.

An important and cherished tradition.
