"Dick" Cheney
A press photographer took a photo that explains a lot of the vice-president's military policy, not to mention his blood flow problems. This shot got about 800 highly amused and amusing posts on a Free Republic thread, until it was flagged by Andrew Sullivan (no surprise there) on his website and the stodgy moderator on Free Republic finally pulled the thread.
The small paper refused to distribute the photo once the problem was noticed. Eventually somebody scanned the paper and stuck it on the web. An internet legend in less than a day.
Fake? Maybe. Who cares? What a hoot!
