CIA is being purged of liberals

According to this article, the CIA is being purged of liberals, ref.:

I have mixed emotions about this. People who leak classified information to pursue private political agendas should be thrown in jail rather than fired. However purging the CIA of liberals could create an "emperor's new clothes" environment with sychophants feeding the President only "party line". That would be extremely dangerous. An ideal situation would be "loyal oppositions" within the intelligence community that maintained secrecy and loyalty to the President but advanced all conceivable agendas in the hope of creating better insight. I see the diversity of opinions as one of the great strenghts of the blogosphere. Politics is much like the "Seven Blind Men and the Elephant".
