The total number of gun deaths of all kinds is irrelevant to that point.
The fact is that much of the mainstream media does have an agenda, and it covers stories that advance it, and ignores stories that don't. This doesn't require a "conspiracy," just a cultural commonality of viewpoints.
Only one person was shot in the Trayvon Martin shooting. Just one. Explain why that particular one was blown up to national news, other than an attempt to force-feed a specific political narrative.
