I understood Rob's post perfectly fine, thanks. Whoever circulated the email that inspired Rob to post and Snopes to look into it was trying to focus on one detail of the incident that would seem to support Wayne "My brain is squirming like a toad" laPierre's "good guys with guns" vision.
But that detail basically boils down to: Security guard shoots a guy waving a gun, nobody else is hurt. That's not exactly news in NRA's America.
What was news in the Trayvon Marting shooting was Zimmerman's assertion of Florida's insane "stand-your-ground" defense. The controversy was about that piece of NRA-mandated lunacy rammed through Florida's legislature. How convenientlysoon you forget.
Like I said to Rob, you'd come across as a bit less crazy if you didn't reach for conspiracy theories as your first choice. Mainstream media blah blah blah agenda babble blather drool who gives a shit, it's just paranoid delusional ranting.
Flame » in reply to Rob was referring to a very specific category of shooting.
That's what I said: cherry-picking

- Given the details of actual gun death statistics, the entire "assault rifle" flap is cherry-picking.
- I thought the NRA proposal was "volunteers", not "cops in schools".
