Look, you are preaching to the choir here... I have often pointed out how silly PETA and other radical groups of their ilk have gotten. They hurt the reasonable people that see real concerns and point them out only to be answered with "yeah youre just one of those kooks - look what PETA did yesterday!"

PETA is a joke... and while I am 'on the left' -and this may surprise you given the portrayal of the left here by the right- I am pretty reasonable.

PETA should just go to hell... Personally there are few fish that I find appetizing... but i love fried catfish... Fish is a big thing here in hawaii- but I consider Mahi Mahi barely palatable.

I remember reading about a religious cult long ago that had slaves to sweep ther path ahead of them so they would not step on any living thing and kill it- (this may or may not be correct, it is crap I learned in grade school). Even in grade school I saw the absolute nonsense of this- first the slaves lives were wasted, and second who kept the slaves from stepping on ants? PETA is engaging in this same level of nonsense. Next time a member gets sick let them decline antibiotics- antibiotics delivered to one person kill more living creatures than there are humans on earth

So while I dont particularly like fish, I have caught many... never understood the joy of fishing, but never had a problem with those that did- though I always found those that had their prize catch mounted rather funny... "Oh my!!! you outsmarted a fish!!! WOW!!!"

Now shellfish, on the other hand, I love- even though it is banned by the bible (Leviticus) however the taste of oyster on the half shell seems a lot more real than silly myths from the primatives...

The fact is humans evolved to eat meat and vegetables, I dont see a problem with that.... We are omnivores. Unnecessarry cruelty to animals should be a crime, but to claim that the natural diet is wrong after a few million years is just plain stupid. The mastadons suffered terribly, many many spear thrusts were required.....

I think I will have a prime rib with a shell fish appetizer on friday- just to piss off PETA and the 'religious' right...

By the way If you are gonna want to accept Leviticus' ban on homosexuality you should give up shellfish, and wearing clothing with more than one type of fiber...
along with many other things you take for granted....
